When it comes to some of the paychecks actors and actresses receive, many of us may be potentially floored by the amount.
Although not every person will understand why actors can make millions off of films, we must remember that their notoriety, popularity, and talent often bring in audiences to see the film, making them valuable and essential assets to the production’s overall financial success. This gives many actors and their agents a lot of leverage when it comes to negotiating their contracts.
On top of being paid for films, many actors are also able to make money through social media. Stars are able to advertise products and experiences and make money for that promotion, creating another source of revenue for them.
We previously reported that Dwayne lost his status of highest-paid actor in terms of how much he made in movies. Even after making $50 million on Red One, Johnson is trailing far behind the top paid actor, which is Daniel Craig! Now that Netflix has picked up Knives Out 2 and 3, the actor will be receiving a whopping paycheck of $100 million for the franchise deal.
Now, Dwayne has seemingly lost his title of the highest-paid actor on social media. It was reported that, “The list of the highest paid celebrities based on what they apparently are able to charge per sponsored Instagram post has been revealed…and The Rock is no longer number one!” Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has taken first place at 442 million followers. The athlete charges $1,604,000 per post while Dwayne’s 315 million followers earn him $1,523,000 per post.
Disney is ready to go down the river one more time.
With Jungle Cruise crossing the $100 million at the domestic box office this past weekend, the studio is pulling the trigger on a sequel.

Stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are set to return as wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton, respectively, for the brand new adventure with Michael Green, who co-wrote the hit, back at the keyboard.
Expected to also come back are director Jaume Collet-Serra and the film’s producing team of John Davis, John Fox, Beau Flynn, Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia. Scott Sheldon returns as executive producer.
Considering how Dwayne Johnson has starred in multiple Disney movies and produces Behind the Attraction on Disney+, it is not shocking to hear that this relationship will only continue to blossom.
What do you think of Dwayne Johnson losing his elite status?
